Frequently Ask Questions

1. What is the Difference Between CNG & LNG?

  • The key difference is that CNG is gas stored (as a gas) at high pressure, while LNG is stored at a very low temperature, becoming liquid in the process.

  • Producing LNG require a Cooling / Liquefaction Process and Cryogenic facilities and is therefore more cost intensive than producing CNG.

  • CNG requires a much larger volume to store the same mass of equivalent gasoline or petrol and the use of every high pressure (3000 to 4000 psi, or 205 to 275 Bar).

  • As a consequence of this, LNG is often used for transporting natural gas over large distances, in ships, trains or pipelines, and the liquid is then converted back to its form in the utilisation storage.

FAQ – NATURAL GAS

• Cleanest hydrocarbon fuel.
• Minimal adverse effects to environment when it burns.
• Releases virtually no sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides vis-à-vis other fossil fuels.
• Minimal soot and no ash formation.
• No damaging effect on ozone layer.
• Emission of carbon dioxide is lower than other fuel oils.
